Fall Festival: Thank You!

It was so great to see our community come together yesterday for our Fall Festival. Thank you so much for your support.

Over 400 tickets were sold, in advance and at the door, and the ticket, food and raffle sales in total generated thousands of dollars for our school. This money is put directly into school technology priorities, our PTO-funded Creative Arts & Sciences enrichment program, additional classroom needs, and much more! Thank you!

Local vendors were so generous with raffle prize donations! We will be thanking each and every donor individually in the coming days, and we’ll be sharing back their names with you, so you may continue to help support their businesses’ success.

Our Lincoln-Eliot Annual Fund participation is also off to a strong start for the year. We will be thanking donors, and also tracking our school’s progress using displays at the Pearl St. and Jackson Rd. entrances, and online, on Facebook and LEPTO.org. Please stay tuned!

An event like yesterday does not come together without the work of many, many hands. The PTO would like to especially thank and acknowledge all of our teachers, for your thoughtful and fun Teacher Treat raffle prize donations. We would also like to thank Jena Rossi, for her partnership with logistics and communications, and our principal, Danielle Morrissey, for her enthusiastic support of our entire event. Teacher Treat raffle winners are being drawn in the school office and will be announced this week!

For their amazing support and partnership with our event space planning, set-up, and clean-up, as well as helping us run a smooth and well-organized festival, we would like to thank Geary and Noelle from Lincoln-Eliot’s custodial department. They took every curve ball and made it a home run.

Many parents, guardians, grandparents, and teachers stepped forward yesterday to be festival volunteers. Whether you sold tickets or food, helped with crafts or clean-up, painted faces or carried supplies, your help was invaluable, and the festival could not have run without each and every one of you!

This year’s Fall Festival Committee was comprised of nine members. This team worked together to plan festival activities, acquire prize donations, set up and decorate for the festival, staff the various parts of the festival, and much more. These parents are:

Committee Co-Chair: Lauren McMinn
Committee Co-Chair: Kristin Bedard
Carolina Bello: prizes, signs, DJ, apple cider and donuts, ice cream, food sales
Andrea Cedrone: prizes, Pumpkin Painting, hot dog cart, tattoos and face painting
Elizabeth DePasquale: signs, decorations
Natalie Hereford: prizes, games, logistics
Sandra Lawry: games, decorations
Amanda Nelsen: prizes, signs, decorations, photo booth, face painting, crafts
Jenny Rosenthal: prizes, signs, decorations, Pumpkin Patch

Also thanks to PTO Treasurer Cindy and PTO Co-Secretary Tui, who each contributed in a variety of important ways to make yesterday happen.

Special thanks to Kristine Cheung from K2 Enrichment Program on Watertown Street in Nonantum, who ran complimentary circuit-based science projects in the cafeteria, and Joey Federico who brought his Italian ice cart and donated 20% of his proceeds back to our school. And shout out to Sean Doyle of Palumbo Kettle Corn and to Pace Hot Dogs, who both braved the cold and wind to provide fun festival foods.

Our DJ was DJ Shaye Diggs. We thought he sounded pretty great!

Thank you all! 2019 is Lincoln-Eliot’s 80th Anniversary. Please continue to keep your Annual Fund donations coming, and please stay tuned to get involved in planning our 80th Anniversary Celebration for the spring. Come see us at our next PTO meeting on Tuesday, November 13th to learn more.
