Family Art Night 6.8.23

Come join us on Thursday, June 8th at 5:30-7:30 for Lincoln-Eliot’s first ever Family Art Night! Our esteemed art teacher, Mrs. Jennifer Sutherland, will be setting up art stations in the cafeteria and gym for parents and caregivers to try for themselves. Come make your own crown, try different methods of painting, or even some blind portraits! Have your kids show you what they’ve learned from each project and then try it yourself. Come dressed to get messy and creative!

Calling all Incoming Kindergarten Parents!

We are looking for a couple parent volunteers to be this year’s Kindergarten Welcoming Committee. This is a low commitment role where duties include planning a few casual meetups or playdates for the incoming Kindergarteners.

In the past, the playdates were held right at Lincoln-Eliot playground and are a fantastic way to meet new parents and have your child meet some of their future classmates. This committee aims to hold 2-3 playdates through the summer before school begins. The dates and times will be determined by the committee.

If interested, please email secretary@lepto.org.

PTO Update – 4.30.23

Hi LE Families,

It’s been busy at LE these past couple of weeks with CAS programs for K, 1, and 4. We had Potato Hill Poetry come in for 4th, Crocodile River Music for 1st, and Hands-on Nature for Kindergarten.

Upcoming is National Teacher Day on May 2nd and Teacher Appreciation Week on May 8th-12th.  To celebrate our amazing teachers/staff, we would love to treat them to a “Cookie Table” in the Teacher’s Room on Wednesday, May 3rd.  We are asking for donations of home-baked (including a note with ingredients) or store-bought cookies in any amount!  The more variety, the better!  Teachers will be able to fill up a “To Go” container and there will be signage thanking them from all Lincoln-Eliot families.  There will also be notes of appreciation from students decorating the walls.

If you are able to donate, please drop cookies in the office anytime from Monday May 1st – Wednesday, May 3rd by 11:00am. We will be sure to include pictures in an upcoming newsletter.

Have a wonderful week,

LE PTO

Bike & Pedestrian Safety

Safe Routes to School is coming to present on bike and pedestrian safety. They will be here on May 1st to present 30 minute bike assemblies to the 4th grade classes. The presenter will come to the gym with her bicycle and share information about what to do to make sure her bike, body, and brain are ready to ride. She’ll talk about conducting a quick safety check on your bike, give tips on what to wear (recommended and required), and bike helmet fit.

On Tuesday, May 2nd, there will be 30 minute pedestrian safety assemblies for the 2nd grade classes. Students will meet the presenter at one of the crosswalks used for arrival and dismissal and discuss pedestrian rules and safety.
