Volunteers Needed for 2019-20 School Year!

My, how the school year has flown!  The PTO is in the planning stages for next year and we need your help.  If you’re interested in getting involved or have ideas for next year, please send us a note at info@lepto.org.  We are looking for a Co-President and Co-Treasurer, as well as various committee chairs, and there are many other ways to help.  Joining the PTO board or an event committee is a great way to learn what’s going on at Lincoln-Eliot as well as the district, and it’s a great way to have an impact on your kids’ experience at L-E.  Our last PTO meeting of the year is in the school library on Tuesday, June 4 at 6:30pm, when we will be voting on our budget for the 2019-20 school year — we hope to see you there!  (Incoming K parents welcome!)

The Lincoln-Eliot Book Fair Is Here! (Volunteers Still Needed for Thursday!)

We hope you can stop by the library sometime this week to visit the Book Fair!  We’ll be open for browsing and shopping starting at 8am Monday-Thursday, for an hour after school each day, and during our Books and Cookies Pajama Party on Thursday, Dec. 6th from 5-8pm!

Remember that this Monday is Dress Like a Book Character Day!  Come to school in costume as a character from a book!  (Or stop by the library to pick up Mouse ears, a Fancy Nancy boa, a Princess in Black mask, a Cat in the Hat hat, or a Pigeon mask!)

Make sure to come to the library in your costume to have your photo taken in our Enchanted Forest, and you’ll be entered in a raffle to win a free book of your choice from the book fair!  Who will you be?  (Click here for some ideas and suggestions!)  Who will the librarian be?  Come by the book fair to find out!

And then join us in pajamas on Thursday evening for the Books and Cookies Pajama Party — with music, fun activities, pizza for sale, teacher wish lists, free cocoa and cookies in the cafeteria, and lots and lots of wonderful books!

Thank you so much to everyone who has signed up to volunteer (and to those who came and helped on Friday!).  We could still use a few volunteers to help us set up for the Thursday event, to run the cocoa/cookies table — and to bring cookies!  (Cookies can be dropped off in the main office or the library anytime on Wednesday or Thursday!)  Please click here to sign up!

If you can’t make it to the fair in person, check out the online fair, where you can find an even wider selection of books and several teachers’ wish lists!

Thank you for helping our kids celebrate reading!  See you at the fair!

Fall Festival Reminders — Volunteers Still Needed!

Our Fall Festival is coming up next Saturday, October 27 from 3:30-6pm, and we look forward to seeing everyone there!

Volunteers appreciated!  What will make this event great is the support and involvement of our entire community.

Please sign in to MySchoolAnywhere or email president@lepto.org to volunteer.  Greatest areas of need: ticket sales, food sales, help with crafts and other activities in the cafeteria, and cleaning up after the festival.  Volunteer shifts are short (45 minutes or an hour), and volunteering is a fun way to make new friends!

Donate baked goods, cases of bottled water, and/or money towards festival supplies.  Baked goods and water may be brought to the main office on Friday, or to the start of the festival at 3:30 on Saturday.  If brought to the start of the festival, please bring to the outdoor overhang area adjacent to the gym.  Cash/check donations towards festival supplies may be sent to school in blue folders by Friday.  Checks should be made payable to: Lincoln-Eliot PTO Inc.

Thanks for your support making this a fun and safe event and a successful fundraiser for our school.

Playground Committee – Calling all volunteers!

We’re looking for volunteers to help coordinate our playground improvements.

In last year’s survey, parents and staff voted on the playground as one of the areas we should focus our fundraising efforts. We’re hoping to make some small improvements this year, but we need your help! Please email president@lepto.org if you’re interested or want to find out more.
